Unbuilt Courtyard
This project looks at the design of kinetic architecture comprising large-scale dynamic architecture components. Using Mies van der Rohe’s unbuilt ‘Courtyard House with a Garage’ (1934) as a readymade stage set, this project reimagines and animates a project latent with movement and potential trajectories thereof into a palpable setting of moving parts.
Imagine the house as a blank canvas, awaiting to be marked.
Waiting for the touch of the master’s hand, the wall follows the motion of rotation - creating smudges to disrupt.
